This course will be very intensive at first with the students learning the basic fundamentals of instrumental music. Students will learn to read music as well as the technical and motor skills necessary to perform on a band instrument. In order to develop these skills, students will attend a 15 minute weekly band lesson starting with group lessons during the first quarter and individual lessons the remaining quarters. Students will attend a full band rehearsal twice per week for 40 minutes to apply these skills and to enhance their large group performance skills.
